The auricle, commonly known as the pinna, guides sound waves into the ear canal until the eardrum (tympanic membrane). The ear drum then vibrates, causing the sound waves or vibrations to move into the middle ear.<\/p>\n

The middle ear consists of three tiny bones known as ossicles. The ossicles also vibrate, causing sound waves to be pushed into the inner ear.<\/p>\n

The inner ear also known as the cochlea is responsible for processing sound and sending sound to the brain via the hearing nerve. The brain helps us make sense of what we are hearing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

It is important to remember that hearing aids do not bring back normal hearing.<\/p>\n

Instead, they can improve the hearing you have by making sounds louder so that you can hear them better.<\/p>\n

The choice of hearing aids depend on your individual hearing loss, anatomy of your ear, your preference, as well as your specific hearing requirements. We are more than happy to discuss, demonstrate and advise you about the various options.<\/p>\n

There are two basic types of hearing aids, Behind The Ear (BTE)<\/em> and In The Ear (ITE)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
